eBook review: Dinosaur Party Adventure by Christina Johnson

Christina Johnson

Joe the elephant, Sam the dog, and Fred the mouse are invited to a Dinosaur Party. They have never been at a party like this, but they are excited to go.

The party has all the regular features: cake, candy, presents, a piñata and lots of fun. But there are still some surprises. Because this party is hosted by dinosaurs and for dinosaurs, not everything is planned for an elephant, a dog or a mouse.

Christina Johnson has written several books featuring her characters Joe, Sam and Fred and this is another of their adventures in their series.

The books are interactive, and they let the children choose where to send the characters through several points in the story.

This is a nice series of books for young children interested in animals.

eBook review of “The Planets: Sam Sun” by Phamie MacDonald

Phamie MacDonald

Sam has a little problem today: because his pants are on fire, everybody thinks he is a liar.

Sam is the Sun, so it is normal for him to reach high temperatures, but this pants problem is a new thing for him, and truth be told, he doesn’t seem to be handling it that well.

In this particular case, Sam Sun will need the advice of a trusted friend to make things better again.

“The Planets: Sam Sun” is the first book on the Planet Series, written and illustrated by Phamie MacDonald, a children´s author and graphic designer.

Through her work, Phamie has been able to give each celestial body in our solar system a unique personality, making science and astronomy accessible for young children; an excellent idea.

I am looking forward for the rest of the books in the series and Phamie´s new ideas.

This book is recommended for curious kids who are about 5 years old.

eBook review: Welcome to Lily’s room by Barbara Miller

Barbara Miller

“Welcome to Lily’s room” is the first of 7 books written by Barbara Miller featuring Lily, a nice little girl who spends a lot of her time playing with Bunny Rabbit, one of her favorite toys, and Josephine, her cat.

Lily´s small world is a sweet tiny place with little or no conflict where she spends her time playing, using her imagination, and most of all, being happy. So are her books.

While some people have been very critical of the first book, claiming there is not a major problem that the main character is compelled to solve, I am comfortable with it. I believe this is a book aimed at small girls and I don´t think that every book that a child reads has to have a major struggle that gets resolved at the end. Some stories, particularly the ones for children, can be safe places where one can retreat to relax and dream for a while, and this book seems to be just that for little gals.

The art done by Inga Shalvashvili is very colorful and professional.

This is a nice book if you want to relax for about ten minutes with your young one.
