Using crowdfunding for your ebooks projects

Wikipedia defines Crowdfunding as the collective effort of individuals who network and pool their money, usually via the Internet, to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations.

I am not an expert in Crowdfunding; I believe it is a way to obtain money from people who like your project in exchange for something: Sometimes it is equity, sometimes it is not. When not related to equity, the payback can come in the form of rewards.

I know that there are many Crowdfunding platforms on the Internet and one of them is Kickstarter.

Can you obtain money to fund some parts of your ebook? I believe you can. A wonderful example of this is the book “Die in Paris” written by Marilyn Z Tomlins.

David Philip Lyons has started a Crowdfunding project over at Kickstarter to fund the translation into Spanish of Marilyn’s book.

“Die in Paris” is no fiction; it is the terrible real story of a serial killer, and it is important that these facts are  never forgotten. It’s also imperative that people who do not speak English know this story and hence the relevance of translating this crucial book.

I invite you to support Marilyn’s book at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1926465025/frances-most-notorious-serial-killer-in-translatio?ref=recently_launched.

The goal is to raise £3,500. We all can help them get there!

Our mission is to help English writing authors reach new markets in other languages. If you have an eBook in English we can help you reach the Latino community, translating your work to Spanish. Contact us at http://www.publicatuebook.ca or at  joe@publicatuebook.ca
